Custom Swimming Pools, Koi Ponds & Water Features in Shreveport-Bossier

Backyard water, done right — pools, ponds, and cascades by Blue Tide

Whether you’re picturing morning laps in a shotcrete inground pool, the sound of a waterfall off your back patio, or a koi pond that turns your yard into a quiet retreat, Blue Tide builds the water feature that fits the way you actually live. We’ve been the go-to outdoor living contractor for Shreveport, Bossier City, and the wider ArkLaTex region for years, and water features are one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

Our pool and pond work covers four core builds: shotcrete inground pools engineered to last 50+ years, hand-built koi ponds with proper filtration, chemical-free swim ponds that swim like a lake, and custom water features — waterfalls, streams, bubbling boulders, and fountains. Every project is built around your yard’s actual conditions: Louisiana clay soil, summer heat, winter freeze-thaw cycles, and the way your family will use the space.

Blue Tide is licensed, bonded, and insured, and every build is backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty. From the first site walk to the day you turn on the pump, you work with the same team — no handoffs, no surprises. Ready to talk through what’s possible in your backyard? Built for Louisiana's climate, soil, and seasons

A pool or pond built for Phoenix won’t survive Shreveport. Louisiana clay shifts as it dries and rehydrates, summers push surface temperatures past 100°F, and a hard freeze every few winters cracks anything that wasn’t engineered for it. Blue Tide builds with all of that baked in — proper rebar grids, tested soil prep, freeze-protected plumbing, and equipment rated for our humidity. We also design with mosquito control, drainage, and shade in mind, because a pool that’s miserable to sit next to in July isn’t really a pool. Our crews live and work in the ArkLaTex, so we know which neighborhoods sit on which soil types, where drainage tends to fail, and how to design around mature root systems. That local knowledge is the difference between a build that lasts 5 years and one that lasts 50.

Four ways we bring water to your backyard

Not every yard wants the same thing. We build four distinct types of water features, and the right one depends on how you’ll actually use it.

Shotcrete inground pools — built-to-last concrete construction in any shape, depth, or style you can sketch. Free-form, geometric, lap, resort-style with tanning ledges and attached spas.

Koi ponds — ornamental ponds with proper three-stage filtration, designed to keep koi healthy year-round and the water crystal clear with minimal weekly upkeep.

Swim ponds — a chemical-free alternative to chlorinated pools. Plant-filtered, swimmable, and designed to feel like a private lake.

Water features — waterfalls, streams, fountains, and bubbling boulders that add sound, movement, and atmosphere without needing a full pool build.

Not sure which fits? We’ll walk your yard and tell you straight.

From first site walk to final splash — how we build

Every Blue Tide water feature follows the same five-step process, whether it’s a 30,000-gallon pool or a backyard koi pond:

1. On-site consultation. We walk your yard, talk through what you want, and identify constraints — setbacks, utilities, drainage, sun exposure.

2. Design and 3D rendering. Our design services team drafts the layout, and you can preview the finished look using our AI Visualizer before a single permit is pulled.

3. Permitting. We handle the city/parish permits, HOA submissions, and any required engineering stamps.

4. Build. Same crew start to finish. You get weekly progress updates and a single point of contact — never a phone tree.

5. Handoff and warranty. We walk you through equipment, dose chemistry (if applicable), and hand off our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty paperwork.

Most pool builds run 8–14 weeks from contract to swim day, weather permitting.

What's included with every Blue Tide pool build

A pool isn’t just the hole in the ground — it’s the equipment, the deck around it, and the everyday details that decide whether you actually use it. Every Blue Tide build includes a complete equipment package: variable-speed pump, cartridge or DE filter, LED color-changing lights, and automation controls you can run from your phone. We integrate the pool with surrounding concrete pool decks, and if you want shade, bug control, or year-round use, we can wrap the whole space in a custom pool cage or screen enclosure. Add an attached spa, a tanning ledge, a swim-up bar, or a waterfall feature — it all gets engineered together so the plumbing, lighting, and finishes line up cleanly. Every build is backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty, and we’ll be the same phone number you call five years from now if anything needs attention.
